Revealing your sexual orientation or gender identity, be it lesbian, gay, bi-sexual or transgender, can be an extremely daunting prospect. It takes a lot of courage, especially coming out to your parents. Many also fear how their friends and society will respond. Homosexuality is normal, and needs to be normalized. It is not a mental illness or a disease. We all have the right to choose whom we wish to marry and spend the rest of our lives with, and we should be able to do so without fear of being ridiculed.
On this week's episode, host Zarina Poonwalla, Founder of Abbzoh Expertise Unique, Performance Coach and Motivational Speaker is joined by TEDx speaker and Queer Influencer - R Balaji. Bala, who likes to refer to himself as 'Bala Girl'. He shares his story of being gay, coming out to those closest to him, finding a support system in his mother, the struggles he faced during his school life and some extremely motivational people that he met who changed his destiny.
The conversation also touches upon cross-dressing, homophobia, bullying and how one should accept their identity with pride.
