Football Twaddle: Back At It Again (Feat. Sidin Vadukut)

FootballTwaddleEpisode122.png

This is the first episode of Football Twaddle for the new season! We have now moved to two shows a week (weekly regular show and a fantasy football show) along with a special series lined up during the year. Lots of guests to look forward to as well and we're just getting started!

On this first show of the season, we have Sidin Vadakut in the studio. Sidin is a well-known author, columnist and an overall fun guy who happens to love football. We talk to Sidin about the summer break, international tournaments, the transfer market and the players who have moved to the premier league. We also talk about non-league football in England and how much fun it can be as a fan! The lads also talk about their favorite players from the current lot.

The second half of the show focuses on the upcoming season of the Premier League. The usual guessing games of who will win the league, the top scorers, teams to surprise us this year and managers that will get sacked. They also discuss Man Utd's transfer window and how they can't seem to get any deals done. A lot of Arsenal talk as always and no Spurs talk at all (no surprises there!)

Ep. 116: Something something "Fever Pitch"

FootballTwaddleEpisode116.png

Drama continues in the penultimate gameweek of the Premier League as Saru and Baru are joined by Kumar on the phone. In the first half of the show, the boys discuss the relentlessness of Liverpool's title pursuit and how Manchester City are so good to hold it off. In the second half, they talk about the bizarre fight for 4th place, and Chelsea securing the spot in the Champions League as they finally won a game while others have failed to do so.

And as the season comes to an end, the boys get a little philosophical and discuss the reasons why people support their club by bringing up the movie Fever Pitch during the discussion, quoting, "It's good for your soul to invest in something that you can't control".

FootballTwaddleEpisode115.png

We have a full house! Kanav and Baru have beaten traffic to join Saru alongside guest Yash Sawant at the studio. During the first half of the show, the boys vent their frustration over the teams battling for top-4 placement, who ironically don't care about winning. They shortlist the worst defenders in the Premier League with Mustafi securing another appearance on the show, and also discuss whether Virgil Van Dijk or Sterling deserved the PFA Player of the Year.

In the second half, the boys predict who will secure their position in the top-4 of the Premier League, and analyze the upcoming Champions League and Europa semi-final games.

Ep. 113: Arsenal keep a clean sheet against Deeney

FootballTwaddleEpisode113.png

Saru and Baru are in the studio for this week's episode. They struggle through traffic for hours but eventually get to the studio to talk about last weekend's Premier League action. During the first half of the show, the boys discuss The Cohones Derby where Arsenal ride their luck by getting Troy Deeney sent off and winning against Watford, keeping their chances of finishing in the Top-4 alive. Elsewhere, Chelsea lose to Liverpool by Mane's open header and Salah's wonder goal. Thus, it raises the question, could this actually be Liverpool's year to win the title?

In the second half of the show, the boys talk about Manchester United, Everton losing to Fulham, Europa League 2nd leg matches and potential final of UEL. The boys also predict which teams will finish in the top 4 by attempting a Game of Thrones integration.

Arsenal v Man Utd was the highlight game of last weekend and everything about the game was discussed: Xakha's goal, Ozil's contribution, Pogba's haircut etc. A lot of discussion in the first half of the show revolves around refereeing decisions and the supposed bias they have towards a few teams.

They are joined by their friend Melvin Jose to discuss, Chelsea beat Manchester City to bring life to what looked like a destined title race.
